1. lie ahead/in store 将来要发生

eg: I was curious about what was lying ahead.

三、辨析: lie和lay你分得清吗？

不要以为这里的lay是lie的过去式。这里的lay是动词原形，只是恰好和lie的过去式同形而已。两者的含义也很接近，容易混淆。lie是个不及物动词，表示“平放，躺着，位于”，表示一种状态；lay是个及物动词，表示“把…置于”，表示的是动作。

eg: The computer was lying on the table.

电脑平放在桌子上。

He laid the computer on the table.

他把电脑平放在桌子上。
